Who can take part in We Walk UHNITED?
Everyone! We Walk UHNITED is a family-friendly event designed to bring everyone together for one great cause. Dogs, mobility aids and strollers are welcomed! Parental accompaniment is mandatory for children ages 13 and under.
Is there a registration fee for We Walk UHNITED?
Yes. A nominal $25 registration fee covers the cost of running this event and the perks received.
What’s included in my registration?
We Walk UHNITED t-shirt, access to celebration site, food, activities and opportunities to qualify for incentive prizing.
Do I have to register if my child is participating?
Yes, everyone who plans to walk the event is required to register. Our registration fees help cover the costs of putting on our event for everyone, and we need to have an accurate count of everyone who plans to be onsite for safety reasons.
Parental accompaniment is mandatory for children ages 13 and under.
When can I pick up my walk kit and participant t-shirt?
The week of May 25 we will have walk kit pick up days. During these days you can collect your participant t-shirt, bib and kit for the walk.
Additional information will be emailed directly to all participants and on the event details page on the website.
What can I expect on walk day?
The post-walk party will take place on our celebration site, where we’ll be offering a variety of family-friendly entertainment and interactive activities. Help us celebrate a successful Walk, and create fun, happy memories with the whole family.

Can I bring my dog or stroller for the walk?
Yes. For safety reasons, dogs, strollers, and other mobility devices will walk collectively in the final group of walkers.
Please note: Dogs must be supervised and leashed at all times. And don’t forget to pick up after them!
Can supporters who haven’t registered walk along the route with me?
For safety reasons, anyone walking the We Walk UHNITED route must be registered. However, family and friends are welcome to cheer along the route or cheer on participants at the finish line.

Where are the funds raised going?
Proceeds from We Walk UHNITED will support the most urgent needs of UHN. Your support gives us the flexibility to respond to the increasing demands on our healthcare system, while helping Canada’s #1 hospital accelerate groundbreaking research. It helps us to recruit the best and brightest medical minds and equip them with the latest cutting-edge equipment and technology – so we can keep pushing the status quo of healthcare and do what’s never been done.
How do I start fundraising?
Login to your personal fundraising page, or by clicking the link in your confirmation email. You can personalize the page by uploading your photo and providing a description of why you’re participating—we've provided a sample description to make it easy for you. After your page is set up, share it by email or on your social media channels and spread the word to family and friends.
What is my personal fundraising page?
It’s the place where friends and family can donate to you online. You can personalize it by adding images and messages to show everyone why you’re participating, and why they should support you! There are incentives as you hit your fundraising goals – so spread the word far and wide!
How can people find my personal fundraising page?
After you register or login to your personal fundraising page, you’ll see your personal fundraising page link at the top of your dashboard. You can copy that link and send it to your supporters.
Friends or family can also visit the We Walk UHNITED homepage and scroll down to the “Search for a Participant” section. They can then search for your name, or your team's name, and find your personal or team fundraising page.
How do I submit offline donations?
You can enter offline donations from your friends and family right in your own dashboard.
You will input donor details for each donation you have received offline and make the donation via your own credit card and keep the cash. If you prefer, you can also mail in your offline donations – include your first and last name, email address that you are registered under and donor details (Full name and mailing address for them to receive a tax receipt). Please note that it may take up to 2-3 weeks for those donations to be added to your fundraising page.

Can I receive cash donations? Do I mail in cash?

How do I donate by mail?

Please be sure to include your first and last name, mailing address and email or phone number to receive a tax receipt and in case we need to follow up. If your donation is for a particular participant or team, please also include their full name, as it appears on their personal fundraising page.
My account says “Not yet active.” What does this mean?
When another participant signs you up for the race, you will receive a registration confirmation email that requires you to confirm your personal details to activate your account.
The email will have the subject line "You’ve been registered for We Walk UHNITED". Please check your email (both inbox and spam folder) for this invitation and click the link to complete your account.
Do all donors get a charitable tax receipt?
All donations made online will automatically receive a tax receipt.
Please note that UHN Foundation provides receipts for offline gifts under $15 only upon request.
What if I want a refund?

Pre-event: what are my responsibilities during the event?
You will receive an email with your roles for the day by May 8, 2026. If you do not receive anything by then, please connect with the Volunteer Team immediately at volunteers.wewalkuhnited@uhnfoundation.ca.
How do I get there?
The celebration site is located at Toronto General Hospital (outdoor parking lot) at 201 Elizabeth St. (Gerrard St. W. and Elizabeth St.). We highly recommend that you take public transit on event day as there will be many road closures around the walk route. Please be sure to check back for more details.
What do I wear?
Be comfortable. It is a long day. Wear running shoes and bring a re-usable water bottle, there will be stations to re-fill your water. Volunteers will be provided with a volunteer t-shirt and badge. The event is rain or shine so please dress accordingly.
What time should I arrive for my shift?
Volunteers should arrive at least 30 minutes early to allow time for check in and any last minute updates.
Can I use this opportunity for High School volunteer hours?
Yes! Please bring your community involvement tracking form with you on event day. Your Area Lead will sign off on your hours.

Can I both volunteer and participate in the walk?
Yes! You may register for one of our pre-event roles starting Monday, May 25, 2026 to Friday, May 29, 2026. See our Volunteer opportunities page on the We Walk UHNITED website for more details.

What are the benefits of being part of a team?
Join the event UHNITED and build comradery amongst your colleagues, friends and family! As a team, you’ll have additional access to fundraising tips and tricks, team incentive opportunities, more fun on the day, and a great opportunity to connect with your community.
How do I change my Team name, goal or page content?
The team captain has access to make these changes! Login to your personal fundraising page and toggle over to your team page.
