“Every Step Matters: My First Run After Heart Surgery”

Saturday 21st Mar
There are moments in life that change you forever—and for me, that moment was my heart surgery at UHN.

Not long ago,2024 March  even the simplest tasks felt overwhelming. My body needed rest, healing, and patience. But my mind was always full of hope—hope that one day I would feel strong again, that I would move freely, and that I would reclaim the life I once knew.
Will taking this run and walk
It’s not going to be  fast. Its not small or long. But its going to be everything.
Every step I take will be carried emotion—gratitude, strength, and a quiet pride that words can’t fully express. This isn’t  just a run/walk .It is a reminder that healing is possible. That even after one of the hardest phases of life, the body and soul can find their way back.

I owe so much of this moment to UHN. The care, the expertise, and the compassion I received didn’t just help me survive—they helped me believe in recovery. They gave me a second chance at life, and today, I honored that gift in the simplest way I could—by moving forward, one step at a time.

This journey hasn’t been easy. There were days filled with uncertainty, fatigue, and frustration. But there were also moments of strength, resilience, and growth.

And walk day will be one of them.
To anyone going through recovery—whether it’s physical or emotional—please know this: progress may feel slow, but every step counts. Celebrate the small wins, because one day, they turn into something truly meaningful.

This run/walk may be my first , but it’s definitely not my last.

Here’s to healing, strength, and new beginnings.
