I'm UHNITED to push health care forward!
UHN has been an integral part of my health care for the past 16 years. From life saving transplant number one and the best pre- and post- lung transplant rehab, to keeping me alive when my kidneys failed through the stellar home hemodialysis program, to saving my life again with transplant number two and ensuring not only was Nundhun’s kidney transplanted into me safely but that he was also cared for, and to restoring my vision through cataract surgery - these are just the highlights.
In addition to their achievements in science and innovation, I’ve also been lucky to have been supported by caring staff every step of the way. Spending as much time as I have at Toronto General, through challenges and some of the most difficult moments, the power of one person - a nurse, a porter, a tech, a doctor -
to make that day, or even just an hour a little better is something I’ve experienced over and over again.
I’ll be walking on May 30 to help raise money to support the work they do, so they can continue to change the lives of many more patients in the future.
