Araya Mengesha

Araya is a Toronto born, Ethiopian-Eritrean actor/filmmaker. Currently on-screen as Mark Yohannes on the smash hit and multi-award winning, LAW & ORDER TORONTO: CRIMINAL INTENT (CityTV/The CW). Other TV/Film credits include: NOBODY (Universal), ANNE WITH AN E (CBC/Netflix), TINY PRETTY THINGS (Netflix), REVENGE OF THE BLACK BEST FRIEND (CBC), and SHOOT THE MESSENGER (CBC/WGN). Most recently Mengesha wrapped on his first full Amharic language film, MEHAL SEFARI which he shot in Addis Ababa, by award-winning Ethiopian director Abraham Gezahgne. UHN has provided much needed care to his family over the years, so Araya is excited to be able to give something back to the team that has cared for the people he loves most.
