Sunday 26th Apr I am proud to take part in this important initiative as part of "Team Lombardi" - lead by our team captain Grace Lombardi.As some of you may be aware, I have been diagnosed APS (AntiPhosholipid Antibody Syndrome), a condition in which the immune system mistakenly makes antibodies that attack tissues and organs in the body. These antibodies can cause the blood clots to form in the arteries and veins. With APS, both Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis become 'side effects'.
I have been privileged to attend and receive treatment from the specialized clinics at UHN - Toronto Western Hospital since 2018. UHN is the only Hospital in Ontario to offer APS clinics, in conjunction with Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis Clinics. Please help me support the continue great work at UHN as they continue to help me.
