Walk with us on -May 30, 2026/9:00AM/ Toronto General Hospital/ 2 ½ years of Gratitude & Second Chances

Tuesday 7th Apr
Early in 2023, I was told I had only months to live. My lungs had given out. I was tethered to oxygen, holding on, but never let go of hope, faith, and prayer.

THEN A MIRACLE.
On December 5th, 2023, I was given the gift of life through a double lung transplant. A gift from a stranger, an angel, and a family who, in their deepest moment of loss, chose to give life to someone they would never meet. There are no words to express that kind of grace. It is a blessing I carry in every breath I take.

Today: I am 2½  years into this second chance at life.
And so I walk.

I walk because I can breathe again.
I walk for the thousands still waiting for their miracle. 
I walk for the families who make the impossible choice to give others a future.
I walk for the doctors, nurses, and caregivers at UHN who didn’t
just treat me, they carried me and continue to carry me with compassion, strength, and humanity. 
And my Donor walks with me...always.

But most deeply...I walk with love in my heart. 

I walk for my daughter Angela, my angel, who I lost far too soon. Though I cannot hold her hand, I feel her with every step I take. She walks beside me always.

I walk for my children and my  grandchildren, who gave me the strength to keep fighting when the days felt impossible. 

I walk for my husband, my family, and my friends, those who stood by me, lifted me, and never let me lose faith. 

UHN gave me more than life--they gave me the gift of time. Time to be a mother, a Nonna, a wife, a sister, and a friend. Time to laugh again. Time to love again.  Time to live again...and time to give back. 

This is why I continue to walk. 

And from my heart, I invite you to walk with me or support me. 

Join THE MARCHING ANGELS.
Walk beside us in person, or in spirit. Every step matters. Every dollar raised helps give someone else the chance to breathe, to live, to come home to their family again. 

You don’t have to know someone who went through this to make a difference. 
You just have to care. 

Because somewhere, right now. someone is waiting...just like I was. 
And because of people like you, they will get their miracle. 

With gratitude beyond words and blessings in every step, thank you.
