Why am I walking in the UHN-ITED Walk tomorrow? Plain and Simple – I’m walking for my son Cameron who is currently in chemotherapy to battle Pulmonary Arterial Sarcoma.
Why am I fundraising for UHN? UHN saved Cameron’s life with treatments that didn’t exist 20 years ago. Toronto General/UHN is the top ranked public hospital in the world (and #3 if you include all private hospitals, with Mayo Clinic and Clevland Clinic being 1 and 2). UHN staff have deep expertise in cardiac and thoracic surgery, oncology and palliative care that all give us great confidence we are getting the best health care and the pursuit of excellence never stops. Cameron is proudly part of 3 research studies aimed to raise the bar even higher in the future. Please help make the future even better – donate if you can today.

The year 2025 has started with opportunities and challenges, but for our family, none has tested us more than Cameron (now 29), being diagnosed and treated for Pulmonary Arterial Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. From surprising, but suspicious EKG readings in mid-February, through rapid diagnosis, cardiovascular surgery to remove substantially all of the cancer and Chemotherapy which started last week.
We have been supported by an A-Team of more than 100 staff, volunteers and specialists from United Health Network (UHN) playing their respective positions and navigating all of us through the journey.
