Did you know when UHN and Toronto come together believing anything can happen, it does? That’s just one reason I’ve registered for We Walk UHNITED and chose to raise funds for University Health Network (UHN).

The spirit behind UHNITED is the power of great minds from different disciplines joining forces to not only deliver the best care, but to tackle some of the toughest health care challenges of our day. But it can’t be done without your support.

Proceeds from We Walk UHNITED will support the most urgent needs of UHN. Your support gives them the flexibility to respond to the increasing demands on our healthcare system, while helping Canada’s #1 hospital accelerate groundbreaking research. It helps UHN to recruit the best and brightest medical minds and equip them with the latest cutting-edge equipment and technology – so they can keep pushing the status quo of healthcare and do what’s never been done.

Dear friends,

As many of you know, the Cartwright family has been "frequent fliers" of the University Health Network (UHN) hospitals for many years; from compassionate care for our mum at Princess Margaret, to expert cardiac care for Meredith and me at Toronto General, to currently treating Brian's leukemia at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

Meredith jokes that the Cartwright family is a line item on the Ontario Ministry of Health budget! But we have always been strong supporters of UHN and this is another way for us to give back, and to encourage our friends to help out too.

On Saturday May 31, Charlotte Bryn and I are participating in the UHNITED fundraising walk, to honour Brian's courageous battle with cancer and to show our appreciation for the life-saving care that we get at UHN.

UHN is ranked the #3 hospital in the world, and the #1 hospital in Canada. With cutting edge research and recruiting the top medical practitioners in the world, UHN provides excellent and equitable care to all Canadians. Now more than ever we need to support our home team!
