I’m UHNITED to push health care forward 💛

For the second year in a row, I’m taking part in We Walk UHNITED in support of the University Health Network (UHN), and I’m proud to be walking with Team HeartLinks, my heart transplant community.

I walk in honour of my donor, whose selfless gift gave me a second chance at life.

I walk in memory of my dad, Tony, and my sister, Kristina.
And I walk for my family, my sister Pia living with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, my son who carries the gene, and my nieces and nephews who continue to be monitored.

After receiving my heart transplant at Toronto General Hospital, part of UHN, I know firsthand what world-class care looks like. It’s the care that saved my life, and the care I continue to rely on.

But I also walk for the future.

Health care is always evolving. Research is advancing. Treatments are improving. And I walk with hope for better options, better outcomes, and continued innovation for the people I love, my transplant community, and for everyone who may one day need UHN.

UHN is Canada’s #1 hospital and ranked #2 in the world, and we are incredibly fortunate to have this level of care so close to home. I am here today because of it.
